【摘要】:Thispracticedescribesproceduresforspecimenpreparationandmountingwhentestingasite-fabricatedstretchsystemtoassessflamespreadandsmokedevelopedassurface-burningcharacteristicsusingTestMethodE84.TestingisconductedwithTestMethodE84.Thispracticedoesnotprovidepass/failcriteriathatcanbeusedasaregulatorytool.Usethevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsasthestandard,inrefereedecisions.ThevaluesintheSIsystemofunitsaregiveninparentheses,forinformationonly;seeIEEE/ASTMSI-10forfurtherdetails.Thisfirestandardcannotbeusedtoprovidequantitativemeasures.Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Firetestinginvolveshazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.Thisstandardgivesinstructionsonspecimenpreparationandmounting,butthefire-test-responsemethodisgiveninTestMethodE84.SeealsoSection10.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotesshallnotbeconsideredrequirementsofthestandard.
